Legal Services Offered

I am a trial lawyer running a solo practice. Therefore, if I take your case, I will be the attorney who handles your case from beginning to end.  I have decades of experience in taking many types of cases to trial (and also case on appeal, if necessary). I will not take any case unless I am prepared to take it all the way from the beginning to end.

Although I have handled many types of cases, both straight-forward and complex, my focus is on personal injury, consumer law and class actions.  I also represent people on many other types of lawsuits. After we discuss your case, I will tell you whether I can represent you on a contingency fee basis or an hourly fee basis. If you have any questions about whether I would be able to represent you, email me or call me so that we can discuss your situation.

I often co-counsel with other attorneys on complex cases. If you are an attorney looking to work with me, call me so that we can discuss your case.

What is a Personal Injury case?

“Personal injury” claims arise when a person suffers harm from an accident or injury and someone appears to be legally responsible for these damages.  Common personal injury cases include automobile accidents, premises liability cases and cases where a dangerous or defective product causes injuries. I handle only serious injury cases.  If I agree to become your attorney I will work on a contingency fee, meaning that you would owe me an attorney fee only if you prevail in your suit (by verdict or by settlement). If you have suffered an injury and you believe someone else is liable, I invite you to email me or call me so that we can discuss your situation.

What is Consumer Law?

In many cases, consumer protection laws are designed to prevent businesses from engaging in fraud or unfair practices that cause economic injuries to consumers.  In Missouri, the Merchandising Practices Act prohibits the “use or employment by any person of any deception, fraud, false pretense, false promise, misrepresentation, unfair practice or the concealment, suppression, or omission of any material fact in connection with the sale or advertisement of any merchandise in trade or commerce …”   The Missouri law provides that those who are damaged by such acts are entitled to actual damages and in some cases, punitive damages. In addition to the Merchandising Practices Act, other consumer protection laws (both federal and state) exist.  If you are a consumer who has been ripped off by a business, I invite you to email me or call me so that we can discuss your situation.

What is a Class Action?

Where many people have been ripped off in the same way by the same business or government entity, a plaintiff may bring a lawsuit on behalf of a group or “class” of similarly situated people. A class action is thus different from a traditional lawsuit, where one person sues another party for damages and where all of the parties are present in court. A class action allows all the claims of all class members to be litigated in a single court case, through the efforts of one representative plaintiff (or a small number of such plaintiffs and his or her attorney.  If a business or government entity has caused economic damage to you and to many other people, I invite you to email me or call me so that we can discuss your situation.

Please note that I do not handle the following types of cases:

  1. Defending debt collection cases.
  2. Criminal cases
  3. Family Law (including divorce cases)
  4. Workers Compensation (injuries suffered on the job)
  5. Traffic Tickets
